What is Padel?
Padel is an emerging racquet sport that has been gaining popularity around the world since its introduction in Mexico in the 1970s. It’s a fast-paced game that combines elements of tennis and squash, played on a court similar to those used for doubles tennis. The main difference between padel and pickleball is the size of the court and the number of players: while pickleball can be played with two or four people, padel must always be played by two teams of two.
How Does it Differ From Pickleball?
The most obvious difference between padel and pickleball is the shape of their courts; whereas pickleball courts are shaped like rectangles, padel courts are more curved at both ends, resembling a diamond. Additionally, unlike traditional tennis or squash courts which have a higher fence enclosing them (also known as an alambrado), padel walls are lower so that balls don’t bounce off them too high – creating longer rallies during games! Finally, when playing either sport there are certain rules governing how each team may score points; for example in pickleball only one serve from each side can earn points whereas in padel all serves result in points being awarded.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although there are similarities between the sports of Paddle and Pickle Ball, such as their use of rackets to hit balls towards opposing sides’ goals, they remain distinctively different due to differences regarding court size/shape as well as scoring regulations. Whether you choose to play one over another will depend on your individual preference – but now you know what sets these sports apart!
